West End Post Office, Dingwall

On 8th January 2008, the Post Office® announced their plans for changes to the Post Office® network in Dingwall as part of the Government initiated public consultation on a range of proposed measures to supposedly modernise and reshape the Post Office® network.

The West End Post Office, Mill Street, Dingwall has been identified as one of those sites for closure, which would remove access to local postal services from the West End of Dingwall, leaving only one Post Office in the town, unless the local community act now to save it.

The West End Post Office, is a focal point for many residents in this part of Dingwall, and supporters claim it’s survival is not simply a financial issue but important to the continued success of the businesses and residents in this area.

By supporting our efforts to Save Your Post Office, you can join us by helping to respond as part of the consultation process which closes on 18th February 2008.

Head along to the website - www.saveyourpostoffice.org.uk and sign the petition, or respond to the Post Office Consultation Team, info on this site and on the Highland Council forum.
